Africorps programs provide a rewarding combination of exploration, service, professional development, and understanding in communities in Africa. Participants have the opportunity to make a real impact as well as gain invaluable field experience and cross-cultural understanding while working in the areas of:

	community development
	the environment
	public health

Structured language study, home stays, and cultural programs are also available.

AfriCorps encourages intercultural exploration and understanding through participation in community-driven initiatives. Participants can work side-by-side with local people on locally designed and driven projects - which foster grass-roots collaboration and skill-building - while learning about the local culture through excursions and daily interaction.
